Roll forming overviewMidwest Metal Fabrication offers medium to large roll forming capabilities. We operate a roll former with a 200 H.P. motor, a 4.5” shaft diameter, and 12 tooling stands. We focus on providing unique, cost-saving, solutions to heavy-gauge customer roll forming problems. We attempt to provide innovative roll forming metal fabricating solutions to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) that have unique roll forming requirements or issues. Material gaugeMidwest Metal Fabrication has medium to large roll forming equipment. We can roll form metal up to ¼” or ~ 7-gauge and roll form up to a 90 °angle into the workpiece. We can also form other lighter gauges as well with a minimum of 18-guage. Materials roll formedWe can roll form virtually any common metal or metal alloy to a customer's specifications. The most common metals we roll form include:
We also can roll form copper and galvannealed steel. WidthMidwest Metal Fabrication provides heavy-gauge, quality precision formed roll-forming services and custom roll formed shapes for OEM customers. Our roll forming equipment can form heavy gauge metals up to 30" wide. We can roll form metal with a gauge as thin as 0.010" and as thick as 0.250". We can roll form widths as narrow as the limitations of the tooling. ToleranceMidwest Metal Fabrication’s roll forming equipment can hold the tolerances of +/- 1/16” on length and 1/32” on width. Coil sizeMidwest Metal Fabrication's roll formers can handle coils up to 15,000 pounds. Tooling optionsMidwest Metal Fabrication provides turnkey roll forming operations. We'll take a customer's existing tooling and run production or we will take on a project from the ground up creating the necessary tooling. We will pay for tooling that is incorporated into the job based on volume. Our customers are our best investment. Run size/volumeMidwest Metal Fabrication requires a 5000-foot minimum run without any maximum run size. Forming speedOur forming speed is contingent on the thickness and shape of the material being roll formed. Midwest Metal Fabrication can roll form 9-gauge, U shape, at 100 feet per minute as an example. Run out table lengthMidwest Metal Fabrication’s run out table length is 40’. Specialized shapesWe offer unique roll forming capabilities providing:
virtually any roll formed profile our customers may require. Specialized in-line processesMidwest Metal Fabrication has the ability to offset the ends of the finished metal sheet, in-line, post roll forming. Our offering of in-line offsetting is a unique and specialized process provided by few other roll forming operations. Complementary servicesWe also offer post roll formed component punching, off-line. Providing this service off-line significantly increases punching accuracy.
