What is your weight limit on part sizes?We can accommodate a wide range of part sizes from 2 pounds up to 3500 pounds, per fabricated component or fabricated part. How long are Midwest Metal Fabrication’s quotes valid?Normally, Midwest Metal Fabrication’s quotes are good for 30 days. If a specific request is made for longer time frames, we can usually accommodate them. What information do you require to develop a quotation?To provide our fabrication customers with an accurate quote, Midwest Metal Fabrication quote personnel will require the following information:
What is your average lead-time?We can fabricate and ship simple components or parts within 3 weeks. Custom sizes and custom finishes or new components or parts may require up to 20 weeks for tooling, setup, fabrication, and shipment. How accurate are Midwest Metal Fabrication’s lead-time estimates?We understand our customers’ projects need to be coordinated with other production or construction activities. We know poor delivery estimates create issues for our heavy gauge fabricated metal customers, so we try our absolute best to ensure the Midwest Metal Fabrication’s quotes include accurate lead-time estimates. How do we order?Submit an inquiry with your heavy gauge metal component or part fabricating requirements. We will respond within 48 hours with a quote. Midwest Metal Fabrication only requires a written P.O. that meets our standard terms and conditions. How does Midwest Metal Fabrication ship its completed components and parts?Midwest Metal Fabrication’s heavy gauge component or part shipments can be shipped by truck, rail, or air, depending on the customers’ needs. Freight terms are Collect, F.O.B. Gary, Indiana 46102. What are your standard payment terms?Our standard payment terms are Net 30 days subject to credit approval. Are all of your fabricating processes performed in the United States?Yes, in fact all our heavy gauge metal fabricating processes are performed in one of our two Gary, Indiana facilities. How easily can you ship via rail?That is one of the easiest things we do. In fact, we have our own active rail spur, with a siding 500 feetlong on our property that can handle box cars, flat cars, gondolas, and center beam cars. When are products you put in finished inventory invoiced?Midwest Metal Fabrication invoices our customers when their products are shipped. Who owns the finished goods inventory?Once we invoice our customers, the title to the finished goods is transferred to them. How long will Midwest Metal Fabrication hold our goods in finished inventory?We will hold finished goods up to 60 days on our floor.
