Chemical degreasing is a cleaning process that uses chemicals to remove foreign substances from the surface of a workpiece. The workpiece is sprayed with a chemical bath where the chemical attacks the surface of the workpiece when a workpiece is left in the chemical long enough. This process is often used for surface preparation prior to painting or coating.

Chemical degreasing overview

Midwest Metal Fabrication uses high quality, biodegradable, and non-caustic chemicals to degrease components. These same chemical cleaning mixtures are used to clean military aircraft parts prior to painting. We spray conveyorized parts with the degreaser, rinse with water, and then oven dry prior to painting, assembly, or shipment.

Maximum workpiece size

Midwest Metal Fabrication is capable of chemically degreasing parts or components that that are up to 13’ long x 13” wide x 8” tall.

Chemicals used

We use coconut oil based chemicals in our surface preparation that are agreeable with the environment.
