Bar bending services

Bar bending services at Midwest Metal Fabrication.

Bar bending is a cold forming process. A bar jig is constructed to achieve the desired shape, dependent on the specific bend or bends required. The workpiece is inserted into the bar jig to mechanically bend the bar under pressure to the desired shape.

Bending/bar bending overview

Midwest Metal Fabrication offers heavy-duty bending/bar bending services to customers requiring these heavy-gauge metal-fabricating services. We operate up to four bar bending machines to provide our OEM customers with the formed metal shapes they need to meet their custom fabricated metal parts requirements. We process HR (Hot Rolled) bars.

Bar diameter

Midwest Metal Fabrication can bend round bars with diameters from 0.500” - 1.000”.

Uni and/or bi-directional

Midwest Metal Fabrication offers both Bi-directional and Uni-directional bar bending services.

Bar size

We are capable of bending flat or round bar stock from 1/2” to 2” in thickness.

Bend shapes

Midwest Metal Fabrication is capable of bending bar at specified angles up to 180°.

Maximum bending capacity (inches)

Midwest Metal Fabrication currently bends a 5/8” radius on 1” thick round bar stock. We are capable of radius bending up to 2”round bar stock.

Maximum bending radius (inches)

The maximum bend radius we can perform is 5/8”.

Maximum bending angle (°)

Midwest Metal Fabrication is capable ofbending bars up to 180°.

Maximum feeding length with mandrel (inches)

We can bend bar stock with a maximum feeding length of 120”.

Materials

Midwest Metal Fabrication most commonly bends bar stock made our of cold rolled steel, high strength low alloy steel, hot rolled steel, stainless steel, and various steel alloys.

Bending accuracy

We can hold a tolerance of +/- 1° on angle bends.

Dimensions (feet)

Midwest Metal Fabrication is capable of bending bar stock up to 10’ long.
